Over the past 15 years Steadfast Group’s charitable foundation has made over $10 million in donations to organisations across Australia.
Created to facilitate grants and charitable contributions that support charities helping people to overcome adversity, the Steadfast Foundation has supported causes ranging from cancer research and support, mental health, children’s causes and charities supporting the homeless and disadvantaged since its inception.
Steadfast Group Founder, Managing Director & CEO Robert Kelly AM said: “We believe in supporting charities that drive meaningful change in our communities, and many of the causes the Steadfast Foundation partners with are chosen based on the recommendations of our brokers who are involved with these organisations.”
The Steadfast Foundation continues to support Steadfast’s commitment to its Reconciliation Action Plan by partnering with Bandu, a First Nations-led charity and social enterprise dedicated to closing the education and employment gap for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.
“Like all our partnerships through the Steadfast Foundation, our partnership with Bandu has been rewarding and made a genuine difference to increasing employment opportunities for First Nations young people. It has also had a positive impact on our team at Steadfast Group,” Mr Kelly adds.
“Part of Bandu’s work is delivering cultural safety training for corporate organisations, like Steadfast. This has really enhanced our team’s understanding of the inequalities First Nations people face and how we can all make our workplace inclusive for First Nations team members.”
The Steadfast Foundation also selects a charity each year to be the Steadfast Convention Charity partner, with brokers and exhibitors generously donating funds throughout the event.
This year, the selected charity was Guide Dogs Queensland and more than $450,000 was raised over the course of the Convention.
“It’s always special to witness how generous our network is towards our Convention Charity partners, and this year was no different and it will make a real difference for those in the Queensland community living with blindness and low vision,” said Mr Kelly.
